Russell Brown

 Joined in 1981 via the Junior Section.

Professional Children's Entertainer at Blackpool Tower and noted Close-up magician he has performed on television and radio. He is also one of our valuable stage crew at the Convention.

 
Arthur Casson

Joined in 1994. He is a Past President. As well as performing magic he is a professional keyboard player held in high regard at venues such as Blackpool Tower and recently appeared on Coronation Street.

Arthur is also our Convention Registration Officer.

 
Tony Clinning

 Joined originally in 1959.  He is an Honorary Life Member.

Performs a very funny comedy magic act. Was Club Librarian for many years and also served on the Committee. Has originated some clever electronic effects and loves comedy items.

 
Alan Coventry

 Joined in 1996.  He is the club Treasurer.

He is a professional Children's Entertainer and also performs stage magic and close-up. He loves to present magic as 'fun' with entertainment being the name of the game. He is the Officer in charge of the Spanish Hall at Convention time.

 
Cyril Critchlow

 Joined in 1972.

A Past President and Honorary Life Member. Former owner of the 'Witches Kitchen' which has an extensive magical museum and theatre he presented many full evening magic shows there. He is a collector of posters and programmes and is an expert on the history of Blackpool.

 
Steve Eastham Joined in 1977. A Past President.  He has also been Joint Convention Organiser. At the recent A.G.M. he was elevated to Honorary Life Membership for his long service to the club. He is a noted and talented Close-Up magician and also enjoys performing Cabaret and magic for children  
Bill Gillan  Joined in 2001.

Harry Greenaway Joined in 2002.  

He is the current President and Welfare Officer.  World traveller and enthusiastic close-up magician and particularly likes precision made apparatus.

 
Jeremy Guest Joined in 1994.  He particularly enjoys close-up magic. Operates as Assistant Chief Steward at the Convention and does a great job.  
John Hardman

 Joined in 1976.  He is an Honorary Life Member.

A Past President he has previously held the jobs of Entertainments Officer and Welfare Officer. He is noted for his crazy comedy act but also performs professionally as a Punch and Judy and Children's entertainer. He has a fund of stories about real life mishaps when performing.

 
Michael Howarth

 Joined in 1989.

A willing worker in the Club, he performs Close-Up magic and Children's magic despite being dogged by ill health.

 
Paul Joyce

 Joined in 1994.  He is the club's Librarian.

He performs close-up magic and children's magic and at Convention time is one of our slick backstage crew putting in long hours throughout the weekend.

 
Michael King

 Joined in 1978.

He ia a Past-President and has previously been a member of the Committee and Editor of the 'Blackpool Bulletin'. He performs a smooth manipulation act and also children's magic.

 
Bill Lamb

 Joined in 1950.

He is a Past President and Honorary Life Vice President. He was a Joint Convention Organiser for 8 years with Tom Owen. He enjoys illusions and used to present a mental act. Was awarded the prestigeous 'Murray Award' for services to magic.

 
Norman Langfield

 Joined in 1989.

He is a popular children's entertainer and has a collection of unusual vent. dolls some of which he includes in his act. He has also performed close-up magic and stage magic.

 
Derek Lever

Joined in 1984.

A Past President he originated the British Magical Championships and is currently Convention Organiser. A former I.B.M. British Ring President. A recipient of the 'David Berglas Award' and the Murray Award and is a Life Member of the Club.

 
Geoffrey Longden

 Joined in 1962.

One of the elder statesmen of the club. He is a Past President and has served on the Committee, he performs all types of magic. He is also a talented musician.

 
Russell Lowe

Joined in 2002.

A highly skilled metal worker.  He has manufactured many magical props and is a hard worker at convention time.  He enjoys close-up magic.

 
Alan Mylecraine

 Joined in 1995.  He is a past President and assistant to the Convention Organiser.

He has served on the Committee for quite a few years, helped to run the Junior Section and is another valuable member of the stage crew. He is now achieving great things with his comedy magic stage act.

 
Ian Ogilvy  Joined in 1980. A Past President of the club. Ian is a former professional comedian who worked the 'top spots' he is now owner of a thriving Jewellery business. He has also been a Joint Convention Organiser and P.R.O.  
Jim O'Toole Joined in 1985. He is a Committee Member and Past President.  He also acts as the Clubroom Manager. He has also been the Club Librarian. He is a very skilful exponent of sleight of hand with cards and enjoys presenting close-up magic. At Convention time you will see him selling Lecture Notes for all the star names.  
Tom Owen

 Joined in 1954.

Is a Past President and Honorary Life Vice President, and is a former I.B.M. British Ring President. He was a Joint Convention Organiser with Bill Lamb for 34 years. Is a recipient of the prestigeous 'Murray Award' for services to magic. Is a well known Magic Dealer and performs a crazy comedy act.

 
Geoffrey Parnell

 Joined in 2000.

A fairly new member Geoff really enjoys every type of magic and rarely misses a meeting. He is probably the smartest member to be seen at the Convention in his immaculate dinner jacket.

 
David Plant Joined in 1990. He has served as Secretary for many years after initially taking it on for 12 months!!! He is also a Past President. David has organised the annual Close-Up Competition very successfully for several years. He enjoys all types of magic and likes to perform close-up particularly. At Convention time he is our hard working Chief Steward.  
Martin Scott-Price

 Joined in 1975.

He is a Past President and has also previously been the Welfare Officer. A well known children's entertainer he enjoys presenting Punch & Judy and has a fleet of mini-vehicles which he operates in the parks.

 
Les Pybus

Joined in 2003.

He is our Chief Security Officer at the Convention and is a highly skilled close up performer

 
Mark Raffles  Joined in 1986. He is a Past President and an Honorary Life Vice President. Enjoys a world-wide reputation as a magician and pickpocket. As one of Europe's top professionals he has played every major theatre and Club in the country. He became the very first British Magical Grand Prix Champion 16 years ago. Author of several books and many articles in magazines he is still in great demand.  
Bill Richardson

 Joined in 1988.

He is a busy and well known professional children's entertainer and operates a superb puppet show as well as presenting magic. For many years he toured Clubland with his Cabaret act and Dove magic playing all over the country.

 
Ken Robinson  Joined in 1967. A Past President. An Honorary Life Member he was for many, many years the Public Relations Officer and managed to obtain superb T.V. and press coverage every year for the Blackpool Convention. He was a good friend of the late Charlie Cairoli who gave him permission to wear his stage make-up when Ken worked as a clown.  
Harry Robson  Joined in 2001. 

Committee member and assistant to the Convention Organiser.  He is the President Elect.

A professional entertainer - Harry runs his own Company offering Corporate Magic.

 
Brian Sefton  One of the best known magicians in the country. His immaculate manipulation act has played all the major Conventions including several in America and Europe. He also performs a superb act with doves and a very entertaining cabaret magic act. Winner of several major awards. He is the Officer in charge of Lectures during the Convention, and recently received the famous Murray Award for services to magic.  
Joseph Snowball Joined in 1991. He enjoys performing a stage magic act. He is also blessed with a fine singing voice and is able to sing virtually every song from Les Miserable very well indeed.   
Tony Stevens Works on cruise ships with his comedy magic act and is a regular compere of the British Magical Stage Championships  
Juan Tirado

 Joined in 2003.

A skilled close-up performer and lecturer.  He really enjoys his magic.

 
Bob Wooding Won the British Magical Championships many years ago with his sensational balloon act and has worked all over the country including a party at Andrew Lloyd Webber's home
