The Convention has been entitled “The People’s Convention” because it gives every registrant the opportunity to nominate their favourite performers. Blackpool Magicians Club will try to book the most popular nominated performers and include them in the 2013
Convention. You will find a “nomination box” on the rear of the 2013
Registration Form which was distributed on the theatre seats at the 2012
Convention. Alternatively you can e.mail d.lever1@sky.com with your
nominations.
The 2013 Convention will feature 120 Magic Dealers from all over the world
and will open on Friday 22nd. February at 11.00 a.m. with a Dealer
Demonstration in the Pavilion Theatre. The 2013 Convention will also
include performances from all the 2012 F.I.S.M. World Champions (subject to availability) plus the U.K. Children’s Entertainers National Championships.

Next years Blackpool Convention, to be held 17th-19th February 2012, will be in its 60th year! To mark this, the convention will be bigger and better than ever – certainly one not to be missed! There will be 3 gala shows….. Yes thats right, 3 world class shows, featuring the best acts in magic!!

Friday 17th February: Magic of the Orient

Saturday 18th February: Magic from the USA

Sunday 19th February: Magic of Europe

The Saturday night night show, ‘Magic from the USA’ is a tribute to the late, great, Hank Moorhouse, who died earlier this year. Hank was a great supporter of Blackpool Convention and the Blackpool Magicians’ and will be sadly missed.

Also, Blackpool Magicians’ Club are proud to announce that the Childrens Entertainers National Championships will be held on Saturday 18th February.

The convention will take place in the newly refurbished Blackpool Winter Gardens and Opera House. These lavish surroundings are the perfect compliment to both the 60th Blackpool Magic Convention and FISM 2012 which are set to be the highlights of the magical calendar.

On 26th May 2011 Derek Lever became the new  Blackpool Magicians’ Club President,  taking over the reigns from Jeremy Guest – who did an amazing job over the last year. Derek will hold this position for 2 years.

Its been a busy couple of months at Blackpool Magicians’ Club, aswell as the installation of our new President, we have had many fabulous lectures from performers such as Jay Scott Berry, James Prince, Matthew Johnson and Kozmo. ….. and it doesnt end there! We are pleased to announce  that Blackpool Magicians’ Club Members and Associates will be treated to an ‘Extravaganza of Magic’ on Thursday 30th June 2011, when they enjoy a double dealer demonstration and lecture. Castle Magical Services (Mike & Maisy Shepherd) and Taurus Magicial Supplies (Derek & Anne Lever) will join forces to demonstrate their various wares. After this extravaganza, President of Blackpool Magicians’ Club – Derek Lever, will present a lecture on Alan Warner Magic. It is a night not to be missed!!

Other lectures just announced are Wednesday 13th July – Docc Hilford and Tuesday 19th July – Shoot Ogawa. For more info about these, visit the events page on our website.
